PS: Below is just my personal opinion, might not be all correct, just read for fun~
In KPOP fandom,
there are SUNDEOK(순덕) and JAPDEOK(잡덕).
What is SUNDEOK?
And what is JAPDEOK?
Basically,
SUNDEOK are those fans who only royal to one group,
they only interested at the group they like and no interest at other groups.
On the other hand,
JAPDEOK are those fans who are multi fandom,
which meant they like many groups,
so no matter which group event you went,
you will most probably see them at there too.
For the rest of this article,
I will be mainly talking about the KPOP fandom in Korea,
based on what I saw and experienced for seeing idols at Korea past few years.
Long time ago,
the Korea KPOP fandom was very strict,
if you like a group,
then you are not allowed to like other group,
if not you will get banned from the fandom.
So yeah..........
Calling someone JAPDEOK actually didn't sound very good for them.
However,
things are different at Korea now~~~
WHY?
This is because nowadays more and more new groups kept debuting~~~
If the fandom reject JAPDEOK,
basically you won't have any fans to come to do fan chant for you at music shows recording,
you won't have any fans to come to your fansign event,
and you won't have any fans to record fancam.
So basically,
no JAPDEOK no fans~~~
Anyway,
the Korea fandom are more open-minded now,
even if the Fan manager knows you are JAPDEOK,
but they will still let you line up,
as long as you don't be too obvious with your JAPDEOK behaviour~
HOWEVER,
sometimes some people were just too obvious........
For example someone that I am friend with,
he watched the pre-recording of group A and walked out from the recording studio together with all the fans of group A,
and he straight went to line up with group B fans...
Hey...
Do you think the fans and Fan manager of group B are blind??
Do you think that they didn't see you coming out with fans of group A?
So he was rejected by group B.
Another example of friend that I know,
he went into live broadcast recording with fans of group A,
then he shouted fan chant and cheered for group B in front of group A fans,
so he ended up receiving warning from group A's Fan manager........
As for me.............
Even though I am JAPDEOK now,
but I was a SUNDEOK between year 2013 to parts of year 2014,
I was a SUNDEOK for AOA if you read my KPOP memories timeline~
I remember that I went to Korea for AOA at August year 2013,
and AOA had no fansign schedule,
so friend Y invited me to join APINK fansign event,
(At that time APINK wasn't very popular, you will get picked just by buying 3 albums, now......)
of course I rejected friend Y's invitation~
It was until year 2014 and something happened,
so I decided to stop being a SUNDEOK and started my JAPDEOK life~
WHAT HAPPENED??
Well........
It happened between my memories with AOA chapter15 and chapter16.
At that time AOA dida Facebook event where you need to find out the error parts of Short Hair mv,
and one of the winner will be picked.
The prize was a waiting room date with AOA~
(Basically just enter the waiting room to receive signed poster and take picture with AOA only....)
Of course,
friend Y and me both joined.
At the end,
me who did so many things for AOA,
being SUNDEOK for AOA didn't get pick.
Instead,
my friend Y who is a JAPDEOK and like AOA, APINK, HELLO VENUS and other groups was picked!!
At that time,
I finally understood the pain of being a SUNDEOK,
especially everytime when friend Y showing off his selfie picture with Choa at me,
and everytime he laughed at me that I spent so much money at Meet&Greet but couldn't even take a picture together with Choa..............
Friend Y who is a JAPDEOK received much better than me..............
Starting from that time,
I changed.
I became a JAPDEOK.
There is a famous graph in Korea fandom:
we are not going to have a Maths lesson here~
Basically,
the more you give to an idol,
the fan services you receive will not increase as much as what you gave.
For example,
you spent so much money to do fan support like buying lunch boxes for idols,
but when you go to fansign event,
the idols can just treat you slightly better than other JAPDEOK.
Of course,
you might say that as a fan,
we should just give and do not expect any return from the idols.
Alright,
I am not a saint,
I know jealousy,
I will feel frustrated,
I am just a normal human.
That's why,
I threw away my SUNDEOK identity,
and started to be a JAPDEOK.
Well.......
I know many people dislike me.
I remember that time at APRIL fansign event,
Yena picked my seat number and I went down to take picture with the members,
(please read my memories with APRIL special chapter for details)
there was a fan holding a big camera,
he was looking at me like wanting to shoot at me if his big camera really a bazooka~
Same like on the internet,
take my latest articles at June 2018 for example,
I know many LOONA fans dislike me since I didn't go Inkigayo for YYXY pre-recording and fanmeeting,
instead I went to fansign of other groups,
yeah I am a rubbish~
I know many UNI.T fans also dislike me,
since I didn't attend fansign at Saturday for member ZN's birthday,
instead I went to fansign of another group,
yeah I am sucker~
I know many DREAMCATCHER fans also dislike me,
since I sat down and had tea time with JIU they all,
but I still go to see other girl groups,
yeah I am totally a useless trash~
Anyway,
since I am not a saint and couldn't be a SUNDEOK,
so I will just be a JAPDEOK!
This is my choice.
